The gun pictured is a 1913 20 ga A grade with 28" Krupp barrels. 20 gauge guns were first shipped in 1912, Early smallbores were built with the Kremer latch. In 1913 second style engraving styles begin to appear. 12 ga early style A grade guns were made between 1906 and 1913. The highest serial number 12 ga early style A grade gun record is 21061.

"A" Grade Late Style Engraving

The factory letter for this A grade pictured below states its a 12 ga. 28" bbls choked Mod/Full with 14 1/2", LOP 2 7/8" drop at heel, half pistol grip and weight 7lbs. It was completed at the Philadelphia plant and shipped August 19 , 1927. The original consignee is recorded as John B. Varick ,who was a distributor in Manchester, New Hampshire. The earliest Gough-style engraved 12 ga gun recorded is serial number 21073.
